Term 3 Preaching - 1 Peter

In this short series, we’ll delve into 1 Peter - a letter encouraging Christians to form a new culture apart from the worldly ways of living that pre-occupied the times.

Over the first three Peter rejoices at the imperishable inheritance we have in Jesus. He sets a high view of what life is like in Jesus.

But the crux of the book, and this series is in Chapters 2-4. We are to live as foreigners and exiles in a pagan world. In the book, we address three challenges that face Christians who choose to be faithful within a world is not.

How should we submit to secular authority?

Why should we expect suffering, even when we do good?

Should we also expect persecution for our faith?
