Cambodia Commissioning

Sunday 1st June

Centre for Ministry, 16 Masons Drive, North Parramatta

Our church (ECC), in partnership with CABC, Thornleigh, is commissioning a team of 7 to serve in Cambodia from 12 - 25 June 2025.

We are excited to partner with the Porter’s sending church (CABC) as each church has followed the journey of Angeline and Simon for more than 16 years. It’s the first time either church has sent some of its own to visit and serve alongside them.

The church plays a vital role in God’s great commission and we invite those who want to support, pray and stand behind the team to attend this event.

11:15am - 12:00pm Mission Briefing and Team Commissioning

During this time, we will:

  • Learn more about Cambodia and hear gospel stories from the work being done.

  • Hear from some of the short-term team as they share their personal journey and mission heart for the trip.

  • Pray to commission the work of this team, and commit them to God

12:15am - 1:30pm Lunch

After the commissioning, share with us in fellowship over a Cambodian lunch.

Lunch cost is $20 per adult, $10 per child (12 years old and under)

Please RSVP and pay by Saturday, May 17th as the caterer requires 2 weeks notice. As this is a catered event, late responses will be at the discretion of the organiser.

THE TEAM

  • Team Leaders: Jonno and Jo Choo

  • Team: Stephen Yim, Sam Lin, Jeanne Chong, Joel Chong, Janice Tam (CABC)

  • Homeside Team: Janice Yap and Steph Chiu, Elon Chiu (CABC)

TEAM OBJECTIVES

  • to run a kid’s program during the OMF Cambodia National conference. It’s an opportunity to minister to the OMF MKs (Missionary Kids) and their families. It gives their parents the opportunity to fully engage and spend time with their team mates who are usually spread across the country.

  • to serve in ministry and mission within a different cultural context. For some, it may be an opportunity to explore long term possibilities.

  • to deepen relationships for ECC and CABC with the people of Cambodia and the long term missionaries who serve there. It will give us insight into how we can pray & support them better.

  • to grow spiritually, as individuals and as God’s church, and develop our heart for other peoples.

ITINERARY

  • 4 days in Siem Reap: orientation, team meeting, adjusting to weather and culture, seeing Angkor Wat (historical and cultural relic)

  • 5 days OMF National Conference

  • 4 days in Phnom Penh: see the city where the Porters are currently based, observe their work, share in a Sunday Service, pray and encourage the Porters and their team.
